Getting started

Your account

Downloading Flockbay needs no account, and neither does building. On first launch Flockbay gives the install a guest account, with no browser and no email, and builds on it from your first message. Play and the builder ask for nothing more. Save your account is a free sign-in, needed to share a play link, make a Community profile, or prepare a Steam page. Your AI connects in Connectors, from the Flockbay menu.

For the game itself, see the free AI game maker.

You start on a guest account

The first time Flockbay opens, it gives this install a guest account. No browser opens, and nothing asks for an email address or a password. The account menu names it "Guest account" until you save it. Making the account needs the network; offline, the first screen says so and offers Try again.

A guest account builds. You send your first message with nothing in front of it, Flockbay builds on the free Demo, which comes back each day, or on your own Claude or ChatGPT, and your own agent connects over MCP. Opening Flockbay, making or opening a game, Play, and the builder never ask who you are.

A saved account is for what you share. Sharing a play link for playtesting and making a Community profile each ask a guest to save the account first, on the control itself: the share row reads "Save your account to share…". The Steam page is under Ship once the account is saved. Saving costs nothing, and a plan already on an account stays on that same account.

Saving your account

Save your account is a sign-in, and it is free. It sits in the account menu and in Settings, and one card offers it after your first Play, with Not now beside it. It happens in your browser rather than in the app window: Flockbay opens a secure tab, you create an account or sign in there, and the app receives the session. Your projects and chats stay as they are. The credential is stored in your operating system’s own keychain, not in a file the app invented.

Sessions can expire. When one does the app says "Session expired — sign in again. Local projects are untouched," which is exactly true: nothing on disk depends on being signed in. You can still Play and use the builder. Sign out, and this computer goes back to a guest account.

Connecting your AI

Flockbay is free on your own AI: your Claude or ChatGPT plan, another agent over MCP, or your own API key. You connect it in Connectors, from the Flockbay menu. The rows are Claude ("Runs Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding agent, on your Claude Pro or Max plan."), ChatGPT ("Builds on your ChatGPT subscription.") and "Connect your agent (MCP)". More ways, under them, holds your own API key.

An API key is kept in your operating system’s keychain and is never shown back in full. A connected key reads "Connected · ••••" and its last four characters.

Connecting also fills the model menu in the composer with what your connected AI can run. Flockbay builds from a library of ready-made objects, or with Godot's own shapes.

A provider key set in your machine’s environment outranks the sign-in. The account screen says so plainly when that is happening, because otherwise every turn would be billed somewhere you did not choose.
